Crossbow Developments Junior Training Bursaries

A minimum of 6 training bursaries worth €175 each will be awarded for riders under the age of 18

(on 1st January 2010) who compete at the Marlton Dressage shows in any class (with the exception of TT/BS classes). To be eligible for these bursaries riders must attend a minimum of 4 shows plus the Autumn Festival. Bursary winners will be determined at the Autumn Festival on an adjusted percentage basis using the rider’s best score on the day.

Trotting Terrors & Blazing Saddles

Trotting Terrors: walk & trot only (based on the Pony Club “D” test)

Blazing Saddles: walk, trot & canter (based on the Pony Club “C” test)

These classes are designed as an introduction to Dressage for children of all ages.

Riders do not need to be members of Dressage Ireland and ponies do not need to be registered. Each competitor will receive a comment sheet and a rosette. No scores are given in this class to allow inexperienced or very young children the opportunity to enjoy the sport of dressage without the pressure of winning or losing.

Riders may receive help during their test and the Trotting Terrors Test may be ridden on a lead rein.

Introduction to Dressage

An introduction to Dressage for adults, this class is run along the same lines as the Trotting Terrors above. BD Introduction A and B tests will be used, judges may give marks but scores will not be added and a percentage will not be calculated. Riders may receive help during their test and every rider will receive a special rosette.

Welcome to Dressage

An introduction to Dressage at Preliminary level for non-members of Dressage Ireland. Horses do not need to be registered with Dressage Ireland. Rosettes only will be awarded in this class.
