GERNERAL
INFORMATION Use
of arenas Indoor and outdoor arenas are
available for use throughout the day. During normal hours you will be
expected to share arenas with other riders, please read and observe the
rules that are posted at the entrance to the arenas. Show jumps are available for use.
The Jumps Trailer, carrying a full set of poles and wings is usually
located outside the Indoor Arena and these may be used if required. If you
build a fence or course of fences it is your responsibility to put them
away in the order in which you found them. At no time must the track be
obstructed if other riders are using the arena at the same time. A few wings and poles are located
in Arena 1 & 2, similar rules to their use apply. A permanent set of show jumps is
located in the jumping paddock, these may be moved around as you wish and
do not need to be put away after you ride. Arenas may be closed from time to
time to facilitate competitions and/or clinics. Lessons Visiting trainers are welcome at
Marlton; there is no extra charge for having lessons. However it is not
possible to book an arena for individual use; under exceptional circumstances an outdoor may be
booked but the indoor is only available on a shared basis. All visiting
instructors must have their own insurance, a copy of the policy must be
lodged with Barbara or Zoie before the first lesson. Lunging Horses may only be lunged in the
Outdoor arenas when no other horses are present unless it is by prior
arrangement. Lunging is not permitted in the indoor arena. Lights Lights are provided for your
convenience. If you are last to use the indoor or outdoor arena at night
time, please turn off the lights when you are leaving. Arena 3 is floodlit
and the walkway illuminated, please turn off lights when finished. During
the daytime turn lights on only when absolutely necessary and turn them
off when they are no longer needed. Hacking Hacking on Marlton Farm involves
no roadwork at all. Tobins Farm can be reached via 200 yards on a quiet
back road and Herbst’s Farm is accessible by crossing a main road and a
short hack along a back road and through a housing estate .Bridle paths
are provided around Marlton Farm, Tobin’s Farm and Herbst’s Hill. Our
staff will accompany you on hacks by prior arrangement if you wish. We
request that you notify one of us before you go hacking, let us know your
proposed route and approximate time of return. We request that you adhere
to the bridle paths and do not under any circumstances ride through the
corn fields. All gates must be left as you found them. For your own safety
we recommend that you carry a mobile phone when out hacking in the
unlikely event that you may need to summon help. Unless your horse is used
to mobiles phones please ensure it is set on Silent Mode! Notice
Boards A number of notice boards are
located in the feed area for your information. Whatever request you have
for your horse (your next visit, exercise in the interim, shows you wish
to go to, etc.), by writing it down you are enabling us to take better
care of you and your horse. We also use the notice boards to keep you
informed about special events as they affect you and your horse. Car
Park & Security The car park is provided for your
convenience. Horse boxes may be parked free of charge and must be parked
in the box park provided. All vehicles including unhitched trailers are
left there entirely at their owner’s risk. Please leave key for clamps
and locks with the stud staff as it may be necessary to move trailers to
accommodate parking for major shows. A padlock and chain secures the
entrance gate and it is the responsibility of the last person out to lock
this gate in the evening. You will be given a key for both the padlock and
the tackroom upon arrival. Opening
